Support guide
Corrections, reports and contacting us
A small team maintains The Roll. If a listing is wrong, a profile looks suspicious or something on the site doesn't work, the contact page reaches us directly. We read every message and reply by email.
The short version
One form for everything
Corrections, reports and questions all go through the contact page.
A person reads it
Messages reach our team, who reply by email, usually within five working days.
Not for legal advice
We can't give legal advice or pass messages to lawyers. Contact lawyers directly.
Choose a topic
What to write to us about.
Choosing the right topic gets your message to the right place. Signed-in visitors have their name and email filled in.
Lawyers, firms and chambers
Questions from Attorneys-at-Law, firms and chambers about being listed, claiming a profile or managing one. Name your firm or organisation on the form.
Outdated or wrong details
An old address, a wrong phone number or a practice detail that has changed. Tell us which profile and what should change.
Impersonation and listings that shouldn't be here
A profile that pretends to be an Attorney-at-Law or a firm, or that shouldn't be on The Roll. This includes a profile of yours claimed by someone else.
Something broken or confusing
Anything that doesn't work, or is hard to use, on the website or in the app.
Partnerships and media
Bar associations, publishers and journalists: we're happy to talk.
General enquiry
Questions about The Roll that don't fit the other topics.
Writing in
Making your message easy to act on
Link to the profile
Paste the address of the lawyer or firm page, or give the full name and district, so we look at the right listing.
Say what's wrong and what's right
"The Kandy office moved to …" is quicker to act on than "the address is wrong". If you have an official source, mention it.
Keep it to the listing
Please don't include details of a legal matter or other people's personal information. We don't need them to fix a listing.
Send it once
You'll see a confirmation when your message arrives. To prevent spam, only a few messages can be sent in a short time.
Good to know
What our team can and can't help with
We can
Look after the directory
- Correct or remove listings, and look into suspicious or impersonating profiles.
- Help lawyers and firms with their accounts and listings.
- Fix problems with the website and the app.
We can't
Act for you or a lawyer
- Give legal advice, or recommend a lawyer for your matter.
- Pass messages to lawyers or arrange appointments.
- Investigate a lawyer's professional conduct. That is a matter for the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka, not The Roll.
Common questions
Questions people ask
A lawyer's phone number on The Roll is wrong. What should I do?
Write to us with the Correct a listing topic and a link to the profile. If you are the lawyer, you can change it yourself from your profile editor.
Someone has listed a profile pretending to be me. How do I report it?
Use the Report a suspicious or impersonating profile topic on the contact page, with a link to the profile. Our team reviews these reports.
How long does it take to hear back?
We aim to reply within five working days, by email, to the address you give us. There is no need to send your message again.
Can I complain about a lawyer through The Roll?
No. The Roll is an independent directory and can't investigate a lawyer's conduct. Complaints about an Attorney-at-Law's professional conduct are dealt with by the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka.
